Spatial Reasoning

Spatial Reasoning

This is how we understand and recognize the position of objects in relation to each other.  Spatial reasoning is important to excel in things like reading a map and doing a geometry problem.

One of the newest toys on the market, this toy designed with girls in mind combines reading and engineering. Designed by a mother who felt that building toys were designed mostly with boys in mind, Goldiblox combines reading, building, and problem solving in a way that appeals to girls.  After helping Goldiblox solve her problems, children will begin to experiment to create their own designs.

This toy provides early learning, visual stimulation, and small motor coordination.  Made of durable cardboard or wood, these brightly-colored blocks can be stacked high to create towers of color and fun.  You’ll even find yourself seeing how fast and tall you can build---but don’t be surprised when someone comes along and knocks your creation down!!---that’s all a part of the fun.

Imagine the possibilities with this award-winning building system for all ages.  “Nest-it!  Stack-it!  Wedg-it!” Wedgits are building blocks that are graduated in size.  These safe, non-toxic, and latex and phthalate free blocks nest and layer vertically and horizontally to provide hours of fun for all ages.   Wee Wedgits are designed for 1+.  They are made of soft, polyvinyl material that can also float in water

SmartMax is the magnetic discovery concept that allows children, even from a very early age, to experience both the wonders of magnetism and the fascinating world of construction in a safe way. The extra-large pieces make it easy for small children to manipulate them. The magnets have the ideal strength for easy assembly and breakdown of constructions.

Not only are shape sorters a great toy for understanding object positioning, they also teach color, shapes, matching, and counting while improving dexterity.   At Gingerbread House, shape sorters come in a variety of styles from soft to plastic to wooden - for babies to preschoolers and beyond.
